Costumes are more than just a set of new clothes, for Springfield residents they allow for an entirely new set of jobs. As we wait for the Treehouse of Horror update to drop, let’s take a look back at all of the previous costumes you may have acquired since the start of the game. Characters who have their names in bold earn money and experience at the premium rate.

In the master bedroom of the Simpson household, Homer and Marge share a closet. In the context of the game, the only other outfit Marge has is a witch costume. Meanwhile, Homer has five different outfits to wear. In fact the few characters who are lucky enough to even have a costume only have one. Does that seem right to you?
Two of his costumes could have been obtained for free, if you were fortunate enough to participate in previous promotional events. The other three required the purchase of limited-time premium content.
Maybe the Homer in your Springfield only has one outfit, but for most players this central character always has some wardrobe options available. So which of Homer’s many costumes is your favorite? Did you miss out on a costume that you really wish you had? If you’d like to see all of his costumes, check the gallery posted below the break.
One of the earliest cross-promotional events was for the episode “The Day the Earth Stood Cool”. It featured the voice-work of Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, the duo famous for the television series Portlandia. Not only did this update give us a cool new exclusive building, but it gave us a new costume for Homer as well.
Another piece of memorabilia from this episode was added to the game later in the Season 24 Yard Sale update, the Devil Donuts Cart. Though a limited-time item as well, it was one of the few that could be purchased with cash as opposed to donuts.

Ben Affleck has been cast as the new Batman, and many fans of the character do not feel confident in this casting decision. From the uproar you would think he has been chosen to be successor to an actual superhero, not just playing a part in a movie. I can understand the trepidation in casting him as the lead in a superhero film, because we all remember the last time that happened.
All of this Batman news reminded me of the episode “Dark Knight Court”, where Mr. Burns assumed a Batman-esque persona, Fruit-Bat-Man. A cross-promotional event was added to the game on March 14, 2013 and rewarded everyone with a free decoration, the Fruit-Bat Signal. However, the Fruit-Bat costume for Mr. Burns had to be purchased with donuts, 90 donuts to be precise.
If you missed out on this event, here is a quick run through of the quests you received after purchasing the costume.
