How do you do, fellow big sky fingers? Today’s post is a bit more personal than usual. In fact, I have been playing The Simpsons: Tapped Out for an entire year now! I downloaded this life ruiningly fun game on June 20th 2013. I had a week of vacation time from work and couldn’t afford to travel so I found things to entertain myself whilst taking a well deserved break from adult life.
I have been a Simpsons fan since it first came out in Canada, when I was 8 years old. I was an instant fan! While I found Bart and his shenanigans funny, I also related to Lisa whom I had so much in common with, besides our age! I am now a 31 year old woman and I still relate to Lisa, a lot. When the movie came out in 2007, I rushed to a movie theater to see it. If you know me, you know I never go to the movies because I prefer indulging in my favorite flicks from the comfort of my own home. So it tells you that much!
I have had a smartphone for a few years now but only found TSTO a year ago when I was bored out of my mind and going through the Google Play store. I didn’t hesitate one minute to get this game because hey, SIMPSONS! Although I was a bit confused at first, I got the hang of it pretty quick and got addicted within days. I was – and still am – amazed at the quality of this game, considering it’s freemium. If the 8 yr old me could see this, she would go ape!
It didn’t take long to find myself needing help and explanations of certain things, particularly about donuts and soon discovered an incredible community of tappers like me. Unfortunately, this didn’t last long because a scandal exploded and that website was run by people of questionable morals. It didn’t matter for too long because other fans of the game started other pages and a few months later, I became a writer myself!
Having the opportunity to blog about something I really, REALLY enjoy is a privilege I am very grateful for. My salary is not money, it’s not even donuts! Mmmmmm… donuts….. what I get is interaction with amazing readers like you. As always, I’m craving your comments; how and when did YOU discover TSTO and what do you like so much about it?
