My Tapped Out Anniversary

How do you do, fellow big sky fingers? Today’s post is a bit more personal than usual. In fact, I have been playing The Simpsons: Tapped Out for an entire year now! I downloaded this life ruiningly fun game on June 20th 2013. I had a week of vacation time from work and couldn’t afford to travel so I found things to entertain myself whilst taking a well deserved break from adult life.

I have been a Simpsons fan since it first came out in Canada, when I was 8 years old. I was an instant fan! While I found Bart and his shenanigans funny, I also related to Lisa whom I had so much in common with, besides our age! I am now a 31 year old woman and I still relate to Lisa, a lot. When the movie came out in 2007, I rushed to a movie theater to see it. If you know me, you know I never go to the movies because I prefer indulging in my favorite flicks from the comfort of my own home. So it tells you that much!

I have had a smartphone for a few years now but only found TSTO a year ago when I was bored out of my mind and going through the Google Play store. I didn’t hesitate one minute to get this game because hey, SIMPSONS! Although I was a bit confused at first, I got the hang of it pretty quick and got addicted within days. I was – and still am – amazed at the quality of this game, considering it’s freemium. If the 8 yr old me could see this, she would go ape!

It didn’t take long to find myself needing help and explanations of certain things, particularly about donuts and soon discovered an incredible community of tappers like me. Unfortunately, this didn’t last long because a scandal exploded and that website was run by people of questionable morals. It didn’t matter for too long because other fans of the game started other pages and a few months later, I became a writer myself!

Having the opportunity to blog about something I really, REALLY enjoy is a privilege I am very grateful for. My salary is not money, it’s not even donuts! Mmmmmm… donuts….. what I get is interaction with amazing readers like you. As always, I’m craving your comments; how and when did YOU discover TSTO and what do you like so much about it?

  1. Excellent article. Keep posting such kind of info on your page.
    Im really impressed by it.
Hello there, You have done an excellent job.
I’ll certainly digg it and in my view suggest to my friends.

I’m sure they will be benefited from this site.

  2. I started X-mas 2012 and thought I’d get my fill after a couple of months. I scoffed at the “get addicted” quest and yet here I am still tapping (to my wife’s disapproval).

  3. I started tapping with the introduction of Whacking day last year. A friend was playing TSTO and I immediately thought: Woah! A Simpsons Game?! You have to get that!
Soon after that i started to search for more friends and Information on the game, so I found this superb website. Thanks to everyone at TSTOgame for your great work!

  4. I enjoy this game its thanks to my grandchildren was bored one day they told me about this game and now am hooked I enjoy everything about the game still learning how to add friends apart for that keep up the good work

  5. I started before the Halloween 2012 event. Then I got an andriod device and was crushed that I couldn’t log in to my account on it! But luckily that was 1 day before whacking day and the expansion onto andriod, so the gods were looking out for a fellow tapper! It’s been a daily event since.

  6. Happy anniversary neighbourino!

I don’t remember my exact start date but it was at the tail end of the valentines 2013 event. I love having my own little Springfield to play around with, it may not be the best town out there but it’s mine and it keeps me entertained.

I’ve seen several of my real world friends come and go; and of course the passing of the ‘old site’ and the explosion of the new ones. This is the site I call my home now; I read a few of the others but my neighbours all came from here and it’s the only place I (infrequently) comment.

  7. You know my anniversary on TSTO recently passed as well.

I started playing because of the MESSED up production of Ragtime… And then when I got to boot camp after the show was over the 4th of July event dropped
