Holiday Wheel, now with more winning!

In case you haven’t figured it out already, the prize wheel is rigged. When you find out just how rigged, you’ll probably be extremely upset. If you’ve wasted time, money, and donuts collecting spin tokens only to keep landing on the $1000 wedge this news may actually frustrate you immensely.

So if you’re wondering what today’s game update was about, the winning percentages have been adjusted. Too little, too late?

Hopefully these new odds will help you win all of the prizes before the event ends in… four days. For anyone who was saving up their spin tokens until the final day, don’t you feel smart? Not only do you have a cache of spin tokens, but now the odds of winning the good prizes are dramatically improved.

You may have to restart your device for these changes to take effect. Restarting your device will also help you get Kumiko, if you haven’t gotten her already. Also double check to make sure your “confirm donut spend” option is still on, sometimes game updates set it back to off again.

Claus Co.
increased to 5% from 1.56%

Snow Monster
increased to 5% from 1.68%

Helter Shelter
increased to 5% from 2.25%

Ice God
increased to 6% from 2.25%

Mr. Plow
increased to 9% from 5.05%

increased to 14% from 13.48%

Houses façades
reduced to 14% from 20.22%

This means the chance of getting $1000 dropped from…
60.66% to 42%

I have finished the spin wheel and I don’t have mr plow! I’m gutted! Not sure what happened? And yes, I’ve checked in homers character. He has strongman and Santa Claus and no mr plow.

Too late. I’ve given up playing TSTO mainly because of this.

For the first time EVER, my donut confirm spend button was adjusted. Just on my iPad. Not on the game on my Nexus.

I wouldn’t say going from 1.65% to 5% is a dramatic improvement. Also doing it 4 days before the event is over IS too little too late. Still love the game and am grateful for the free stuff but that wheel was/is agonizing. Almost at 140,000 giftcards and still need the Yeti and Claus Co.

I did not win the ice god, yet it is not in my wheel nor magically in my inventory! What could have happened?

160+K gift cards and I still don’t have Helter Shelter. I’m going to still rake up the tokens tomorrow and Sunday, for a total of 23, BEFORE I go back to spinning that wheel.Honestly, if anything, this change frustrates me because I only have one prize left to get.

This whole wheel thing is a really bad move by EA. There’s nothing more annoying than someone saying “Hey this is free!” and then make it next to impossible to get it.

Well…I just spent 27 spin tokens I saved up to try to win the one final prize (Claus Co) that I was still looking for.

Alas, it did not work.I can say that I hit 1000 Money a lot less frequently, and hit the 50, 100, and 250 gift cards multiple times during the spins, so the wheel has changed and statistics are on my side, but I was still denied.Looks like more springfielders hunting for the Simpsons for a few more days, haha.

Happy to report that after 160K in gift cards I was finally able to snag the Claus Co.Ironically, I saved up 13 tokens and won it on my first spin.I can certainly say that it was a relief and a feeling of satisfaction to get the final prize.I feel like I just finished Legend of Zelda or something.

I actually hit the exact same spot on the wheel (275 gift cards) again during my run of 13 spins, so good luck to anyone out there still working for their last few prizes.

This probably should have happened on January 1 but at least it did, eventually. My Springfield Prime still doesn’t have ClausCo or the Abominable – and I’ve spun 130+ times (the mob is still chasing Homer, who spends a lot of time making snowmen and not hiding). Three days back I spun 18 times and hit cash 17 times in a row –I couldn’t even get gift cards. I almost quit the game over that but stuck with it. I’m at 15 again and when I hit 25 on Sunday I’ll take my chances with the new odds. If it doesn’t happen then THEN I might take a week or two off – or sell my account and give up entirely on the Skinner box that Tapped Out has become (not that Skinner, the one with the pigeons).

When you say restart your device, do you mean shutting the power off completely or updating the game in the App Store? Sorry, I’m getting used to myiPad. Thanks.

I just realized that the Plow king is the biggest F-U to players who started after christmas 2012…

Being EA, all of the Faux Premium characters are released at a price that exceeds any premium character (though if EA would like to test the water with how much we would spend on premium content, we will likely see more premium character stuff of that price level in 2014.)so you are forced to spend 20 usd if you want to see the character in action

Secondly, because he is hidden behind Mr.Plow (who is a premium costume) players assume that “if i buy the bowl-r-ama, i can have finally have a character that is priced as premium, actually doing premium tasks”only to take a look at it later to find out, Nope all of his rates are standard, just like regular barney.

I admit that i am angry about this because i fell for it as well, and now i can’t sell him back for donuts and also fear if EA decides to retool the costumes jobs output, buying him again will cause me to lose the skin.

And then suddenly, falling victim to Gamezino twice doesn’t seem such a bad thing to me

    • feelingblindJanuary 10, 2014 at 5:21 pm

It sounds like any enjoyment the game has is being lost very quickly. You already had your account hacked through GameZino, so having it done again wouldn’t be any worse.

      • Lyokan508January 10, 2014 at 9:44 pm

Fb, you are mis-reading me… again.

i enjoy TSTO for what it is, a mindless way for me to spend frustration between classes, however I quote Lisa at the end of this week’s episode.both sides claim they are doing something just… but both sides are being greedy.

when your page first came online and i realized i was scammed, i was unsure of myself, so in their final weekend i purchased one more thing from them looking to be certain to see if they were cheating me or not (i had looked around the internet and found some sites that could sell itunes gift cards at a discount…) but when i realized what had happened i sold off everything the game allowed me to sell off… and since i have bought back every true premium item from ea.

what peeves me off is that these items that I could take a girlfriend to see a movie i buy a stack of digits that i would expect to earn more than other stacks of digits that i had to get along the games plot… and yes, raven or micah (won’t say proper names) could come in and tell me “it isn’t fair” to those that went through and got the buildings when they were offered as part of events…

TL:DRI enjoy the game and how it allows, but some of the business politics in the real world makes me really frustrated

  11. ClowninclayJanuary 10, 2014 at 1:36 pm

Thanks for the info.I have 30 on the account finished with the wheel and one on my son’s account that isn’t.Wish we could have shared tokens at the end. With the change, I’ll go back to trying to build on his gift cards. After spinning a prize and then being given cash instead, I had decided to put less effort into it.I figure I’ll have a last minute spin party on the finished account right before the event ends.

    • ClowninclayJanuary 10, 2014 at 2:50 pm

I was able to build up coins and received a prize on 3 out of the 5 spins. That leaves 3 more prizes to try to win. Thanks again for the info.

  12. Mark FJanuary 10, 2014 at 1:07 pm

Still need Claus Co and the Snow Monster.Don’t really care about the latter, but I REALLY want the former, and it’s been driving me crazy that I can’t get it! I’ve got 5 tokens saved up at the moment so I’ll definitely give this another go when I get home from work this evening.

  13. RaventhiefJanuary 10, 2014 at 11:56 am

I wonder if EA saw your last post?
    Still no Wiggum lights though.

  14. MistressCinderJanuary 10, 2014 at 11:47 am

It just took me 10 spins to win Snowball II. I play every day and I have plenty of friends and I still have not won the snow monster or Claus Co. I have pretty much given up hope…

  15. Rayph WiggumJanuary 10, 2014 at 11:46 am

Sweet.I have been saving my coins all week because I had really good luck the one time I let them build up to 20.(I wound up getting 3 of the 4 things I still needed when I did that.)So now I have 17 and counting.

  16. chippyfanJanuary 10, 2014 at 11:38 am

Why should this frustrate us that someone “new” with less friends and Levels has now better chances? Of course, some have spent donuts and now could get that stuff freely. But don’t forget the donut gift at new year. And , just look at all that wonderful Christmas items – aren’t they WORTH the time and donuts you spent! THEY ARE…

  17. mcarlandJanuary 10, 2014 at 11:10 am

So if you have 20 spins left (5/day * 4 days), you have a 64.15% chance of getting the 5% items, 70.99% chance of getting the 6% item, and an 84.84% chance of getting the 9% item.
