Snow, it looks like this

snow-os8Soon the grassy green landscape of Springfield will be replaced by power-blue hues and a blanket of snow. If you missed out on the event last year, you’re in for a treat. Actually you’re just in for a visual modifier that will be a refreshing change of pace for the first two weeks, after that you’ll wish for Spring… kind of like actual snow.

Hopefully the façades from last year will be free, or at least easily obtainable through some quests. Actually, I just hope there are more of them. It’s nice to have them for the houses you can always build, but it would be nice to see some other buildings get a bit of the holiday treatment too.

The snowman decorations will probably un-melt too, because science!

At least the Simpsons’ don’t have to shovel their driveway, because there are never any cars on the road. In fact, it’s pretty convenient how all the roads stay plowed. Mr. Plow isn’t even really needed is he?

The reindeer should return as well. Springfield is turning into a real zoo isn’t it? Turkeys, frogs, dolphins, dogs, cats, and snakes. Maybe it is time to introduce some form of animal control into the game. You know… come to think of it, the animals in the town may actually outnumber the women. That’s really sad!

Christmas is coming soon!

The christmas update will happen soon and I know we are all looking forward to a Tapped Out special event! To get our tapping fingers into the spirit of the season, I thought about doing a post on Christmas episodes. Some of you may know that the series premiered on December 17, 1989, with an episode titled ”Simpsons roasting on an open fire”, a Christmas special! Since its debut, the show has aired over 500 episodes over the course of 25 seasons, 13 of them being Christmas-themed ones.

Homer Santa

First, Homer and Marge attend the Christmas pagent at Bart and Lisa’s school. They come home to make their wish lists. Bart wants a tattoo and Lisa, a pony. Marge announces that Patty and Selma are supposed to visit wich Homer isn’t thrilled for. Then, Mr. Burns announces that there will be no Christmas bonus for the power plant employees this year. BOOOOOO-URNS!! Depressed, Homer seeks super cheap gifts but when he runs into Flanders and his huge pile of amazing gifts he feels like a total loser and decides to go take a beer at Moe’s. Barney is there, wearing a Santa suit and tells Homer he’s making money with this job at the mall. That’s when Homer found a way to save Christmas! Unfortunately, his paycheck is only $13 so he decides to use the money to go bet on racing dogs. He puts everything on a dog named Santa’s little helper and winds up taking him home. Everyone is happy!

So, what’s YOUR favorite Christmas themed episode of The Simpsons? You can find them all listed HERE in case your memory needs refreshing!

Black Friday Special!

gil deal black friday

Rumor has it that there will be a special on Black Friday to get Duffman and the Duff brewery with the Springfield sign and $50 000 for 300 donuts! If you already have either the Duff brewery or the Springfield sign this offer won’t appear in your game. The brewery with Duffman normally costs 190 donuts. It builds in 6 seconds, earns 200$ + 20xp every 6 hours and Duffman earns the premium rate on his tasks. The Springfield sign normally costs 170 donuts and gives you an interesting 4.5% bonus. Finally, buying in game money with donuts for 50k is 325 donuts. This means you can get these 3 great items for a 385 donut discount! The offer will end on December 2nd.

I don’t know how long this deal will last but if you can afford the donuts and wanted these, now is your chance to get them at a lower price. If you would like posts on ”Should I purchase..” for these 2 items (or other premium stuff) let us know in the comment section.

When is it socially acceptable to put up Christmas decorations?

During the last Christmas Event, we were given the chance to buy Christmas decoration skins for some of our properties using the Santa coin currency. This was great as it added a touch of Christmas magic to Tapped Out towns.

So with the Christmas event just around the corner “hopefully” when do you think it is socially acceptable to put up your Christmas decorations on your properties?

I have one purple house which is decorated 365 days a year as this is my Christmas themed property, however there are many other properties in Tapped Out that could have lights and decorations on them.

Perhaps your one of those people ‘you know who you are’ who leaves them up all year round just to let other players know that you have them and that you were playing last December. Or are you like me secretly hurrying November along so that you can turn your Springfield into a winter wonderland again on the first stroke of December.
Maybe you’re a Scrooge and never bought any lights last year ‘bah humbug’ and don’t much care for Christmas..

Please let me know what you’re planning to do for Christmas.

Having spent more than half my life in the US, I have always celebrated Thanksgiving no matter where in the world I’ve lived. And, what I’ve found is that like most holidays, it isn’t so much about the origins as it is about family and friends. So I just wanted to reach out with a special Thanksgiving post to all who celebrate. And what better way than by giving voice to two beloved characters – Lisa and Homer.

In Defense of a Kinder, More Gentle, Humanitarian, Thoughtful, Caring, Inclusive, Loving and Vegetarian Thanksgiving for All, a Poem, by Lisa Marie Simpson:lisa-sacagawea-petting-turkey2

God is good, God is great, He never meant for you to put a turkey on your plate.
Of Turkeys I am a great fan for they are thoughtful, gentle creatures whose only defense is tryptophan.
This Thanksgiving do all Turkeys one great favor, and eschew them for something with less flavor. It may not be tasty, but after eating Tofurky, you will leave the table satisfied and still quite perky.
In Defense of THome Turkey legurkey Day – Whooot! by Homer Jay Simpson:

If God wanted us to eat Tofurkey, then why did he make Turkeys taste so good? Mmmmmmm – Turrrrrrr-key…mmmmmm….Goooooooood.

As far as Tryp…Trypto ..Tryptofofolussmm goessss….Zzzzzzzzzzz….

Wha…What – I’m sleeping, leave me alone! Oh, how very thoughtful, EA has left me three free donuts to celebrate the funeral of Mr. and Mrs. Turkey…the perfect dessert for my leftover turkey sandwich… Marge…I’m hungry again!

Happy Thanksgiving

booberellaHello there neighboreenos! I am diddly happy to become ”the chick” on this super awesome blog! You may remember me from the comment section of anything The Simpsons Tapped Out related. I am a last level premium daily player since June 20th. I haven’t skipped a single day of gameplay since I discovered this life ruiningly fun game. I’m probably addicted and donuts are my drug!

I have been a fan of the tv show since it started and I brag to have seen all episodes ever made at least twice and some up to 20 times. I own coffee mugs with Homer and Bart’s faces on them. My pencil case features ”the toughies”. I have a friend who plays the sax and I call her Lisa even though her name is Annie. I dressed up as ”teenage Marge” on Halloween 2007 and won a 20$ gift card in a contest at work. Totally worth painting my face yellow, spray my hair blue and take the subway looking like a punk rock chick with yellow fever.

Aside from this site, you can find me on Twitter and YouTube. I have to warn you that I tweet a lot in french being from Québec, it’s my native language. And my YouTube is for my cooking show and vlogs of randomness. I’m a woman of many (nerdy) interests as you can see!

I hope you will like my posts. Until the next one (or real first one?) keep on tappin’!

Poll: The Simpsons vs. Tapped Out

Homer in TV 2

Way back when we were all either younger, a lot younger or never even thought of, the Simpsons TV Show came into our lives whether we knew it or not, for better or worse. So much has changed over the past 25 years, it would take a lot more space than I’m allotted or that you’d want to read just to list them all, but The Simpsons have kept plugging away regardless.

That being said, my fascination with the Simpson family has ebbed and flowed. I probably missed 10 years solid of the episodes…but then this little “free” tapping game came into my life and turned me back onto them almost instantaneously. Not only has Tapped Out kept my attention on a daily basis for the past year, but it has also got me interested in watching the TV series again, and rediscovering my fascination with this dysfunctional, but highly lovable cast of characters.

So what about you? Did the game increase your interest in all things Simpson and get to watching the TV series again, or is it much more of an exclusive kind of thing?

Green eyed Monster

This is a bit of a random post however a couple of my “friends” who visit my town have pointed out that they are very envious of some of the limited time decorations, costumes, buildings and characters I have acquired over the last year or so.

So I was just wondering when you visit your friends towns is there anything you secretly wish you had? Perhaps you hold a secret resentment for not having a ‘Duff Racer’ parked in your driveway or do you grudgingly hate your neighbour with a ‘Cool Brown House’?

So please advise me if there’s a particular limited time building/character/decoration or even a costume that you covet! Also let me know if you were blissfully unaware that you had missed out on so much delicious limited time content and now you know you’re mad with jealousy!

After all there is a little green eyed monster in all of us…

Episode Highlights from “The Kid Is All Right”

Last Sundays episode centered on Lisa, who whilst hiding in the library from her spit wadding brother Bart makes a new best friend, Isabel Gutierrez (guest voice Eva Longoria), only to discover that whilst Lisa is a Liberal, Isabel is a Republican and her opponent in the campaign for second grade class representative.

At the present I am unsure if Isabel is going to be a recurring member of the Simpsons show, if added she would make a welcome addition to the kids section in the game as there are very few girls in Tapped Out.

I am not going into too much of the story as I don’t want to spoil it for those that haven’t seen it yet… and after all this is a game blog so I will only mention the parts of the episode which are relevant to Tapped Out.

A notable part of the show included a scene at “Phineas Q. Butterfat’s” ice cream shop where the Republican Party were trying to bribe Isabel into running for them with copious amounts of ice cream. After She turned down the offer it was left to Mr Smithers to eat the very large amount of ice cream even though he is lactose intolerant.

I’ve mentioned this scene as the building was only available for a limited time during Valentines day. It was priced at 10 Hearts and pays out $275 and 22XP every 16 hours. It unlocked no new character.
Hopefully it will be available again to those that missed out on it as It’s a great addition to help your gluttony rating!

As I mentioned the Republican Party earlier its worth noting that they have an awesome lair and this would make an excellent additional building for Tapped Out, it could even come with one of the republican members “The Count”

Later on in the episode “Coach Krupt” and his bombardment balls once again make a brief appearance. In my opinion he would make a great character for the game, walking around throwing balls and would fit in amongst the few teachers currently available.

As you can see, there wasn’t a great deal of new content in this episode but hopefully a few things could be used in Tapped Out at a later date!

If I’ve missed anything out you think was notable let me know.

Intro for raventhief

Let me introduce myself and say a big thanks to FB for taking me on board.

My gamer alias is Raventhief I am a longtime fan of The Simpsons and have watched it from the beginning. That might give you a clue as to my age !

I have been playing Tapped Out from the start and I am pretty much addicted, my wife thinks I need help… I can tell you that I am a premium player and have been ever since I bought my first “boat load” of donuts well over a year ago, “those sweet sweet donuts”.

I am here to hopefully keep you up to date on all things premium, I shall be buying all the over priced buildings, decorations and characters “good or bad” and then letting you all know if it was worth the purchase. When things get quiet between events and new levels I will probably revisit and discuss older premium items, because for those new players the prospect of getting a SVT or Moleman is still exciting.

Please message me with any ideas on topics you hope to see or discuss in the future? I am a player from England so please remember the time difference when posting questions. That’s all for now and I will be back soon!

P.S. Start unpacking your trees and polishing your Christmas decorations. I can feel snow in the air…
