Level 35 and beyond…

In the past few months The Simpsons: Tapped Out has received a tremendous amount of new content. In June the game received a land and sea expansion, enabling players to build a boardwalk. One month later a brand-new secondary map was added, giving players the opportunity to build their own Krustyland amusement park. In-between these updates we’ve also had new characters, buildings, and quest lines added to Springfield as well.

So what’s next? No one knows for sure. It seems as though the developers are no longer leaving traces of future content in the files, as that information was too easily accessible. Spoilers may be a thing of the past, but what do you think is likely to happen in the coming months?

The odds that there will be a Treehouse of Horror XXIV event seem likely. The Springfield Squidport and Krustyland have both been ignored since their release. However, given that is more content from the show they can add to each of these areas, it would not surprise me to see a future content update that focused on one of these two areas.

As far as voiced characters go, that list is running thin. Yes, The Simpsons universe is expansive and there are some characters that have yet to be added to the game, but to be honest there are not that many left to add. You’re either going to see more obscure characters added, or perhaps more costumes for the existing characters.

What are you hoping to see in future updates?

  1. Yes, please add functionality to the existing buildings, including Squidport and forget Krustyland. Also, can we please get the Simpson family cars and “the Homer” car? And would it be too much to ask for cars to be able to be placed on the roads? Thanks!

  2. I really think that EA shouldn’t ignore Krustyland and Squidport, As Krustyland is on a new screen and with no new content on Krustyland now one will visit there Krustyland any more and it will just have been a waste of time for EA, same with squidport.

  3. Step One: Slow down.
    Step Two: Slower.
    Step Three: Slower!
    Step Four: FULL STOP!

As you note, the list of characters is getting a bit thin.EA themselves have poked fun at some of their own choices.Although people (in unscientific, informal polls) claim to want new content every two weeks, the simple fact is that pace is not sustainable. In this mad rush to push content out the door, we now have building after building that sits untouched. Many characters have ‘gaps’ in their task lists.Ralph, for example, lacks a 4 hour task.EA is pushing premium buildings down our throats, but then doesn’t give us tasks to do in them.

So where am I going with this?Flesh out the content we have.Add tasks, use the buildings that aren’t being used.Focus on Squidport and Krustyland a bit…there’s tons of potential in both of those that isn’t being used.Seriously…Willie has a soundbite that says he’d rather clean up puke…and he DOESN’T have clean up puke tasks for the different rides?

And let’s say it yet again, although EA is obviously not listening.Put an end to the donut inflation.I know people keep saying that as long as people pay the prices, you will just keep raising them, but I don’t think that is true. How many people bought Kamp Krusty, and how does that compare to cheaper buildings?I believe if EA looked at the numbers, they would see the purchases are actually declining.I know I didn’t, and won’t, buy Kamp Krusty for 200 donuts.

  4. Echo the previous sentiments about Bleeding Gums Murphy – “But he’s dead!” One word: Lincoln – and Patty & Selma. I’ve long suggested La Maison Derrière (the burlesque house) from the Season 8 episode Bart After Dark, and its owner Belle. Would add another female character to the town and could accommodate tasks for almost all of the existing characters, including Bart and Marge. I’d also like to see a cheap Premium pet ; maybe Homer’s pig from the film for the cost of 1 donut.

  5. I hope they add Patty and Selma but as 2 different characters unlike Sherri And Terri. Also, Disco Stu, Troy McClure, Jimbo, Bleeding Gums Murphy (a quest/task involving Lisa would rock!) and snowball 2 or 5 or whatever number of cats were at by now. And CRAZY CAT LADY!!

For buildings, id like to see the Leftorium or anything that can be franchised to help the consumerism rating.
