A blog dedicated to the popular mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Suggestion Box and General Feedback

Can you believe this blog has only been online for ten days? I would just like to take a moment to ask you all what you think of the site and what kind of posts you would like to see in the future. Right now I am going to be focusing on completing walkthroughs for the most recent quests, and perhaps at some point go back to walkthroughs that focus on the beginning of the game.

Aside from that I am open to suggestions. Is there anything specific you would like to see on this blog?

Like Ginny said a gallery is a good idea. Otherwise I wouldn’t change much. This is your site so it should reflect your style. I wouldn’t add speculation and what not, people know where they can go to get that from another well done, but totally different site. There is room for both of the new sites. Personally, I prefer not to have a one stop site for TSTO. The site can get overwhelmingly large an become a bit difficult to navigate with the one stop approach. Your doing a great job, so keep doing what your doing.

Thanks for the feedback. I might try and work on setting up a group Flickr in the coming days. I have a few ideas on how to keep that fresh so it’s not just a photo dump for random screenshots.

If the user known for digging through the files decides to do that again, I would definitely make the information known, but with spoiler tags. Right now everything is kind of surprise since EA rarely lets people know what is coming next.

Great new site – thanks! One thing I liked about ‘that other site’ was the previews of what was coming up. I’m generally not a fan of huge spoilers, but when the game was dragging around Level 29, it kept me interested knowing that something new was around the corner.

I agree with Ginny, a gallery is always fun.
I love this blog, It is a pleasure to read something witty, informative and well written. The walkthroughs are also proving very useful at the moment.

Not as good as tstotopix as I find it is better with more writers as you get different types of posts which are more frequent and also the layout needs tweaking and new menu tabs.

    • feelingblind August 17, 2013 at 2:44 pm

To each their own. My personal opinion is that having so many authors on one site creates a “too many cooks in the kitchen” vibe where things generally feel inconsistent. I also feel that they delve too much into the realm of speculation, salesmanship, and braggadocio; but that’s just my opinion.

As for the layout, there is a menu bar at the top of this site where older content can be found. Everything on TopiX feels far too condensed, making the display for each new post have to compete with an over-sized menu and sidebar.

I know it’s a lot of work for you, but I like there just being one author too, the consistency in writing style is nice.

      • farmerjj August 18, 2013 at 8:31 am

Why did you go on tstotips everyday if you hated been more than one author?

      • feelingblind August 18, 2013 at 9:52 am

I don’t hate anything, I just have a preference. Tips started out as one person, and the people brought on towards the end of the site’s run were done so just to help out.

      • farmerjj August 18, 2013 at 8:34 am

I agree that one author is good for the consistency and I do think that you are doing a great job on the site. I think it’s just because I was a follower of tips from the start so I feel that’s why I go to topix but I do still like this site

      • farmerjj August 18, 2013 at 11:08 am

Just out of interest how many hits has this site had? I do like this site and will be a daily reader on both sites :)

      • feelingblind August 18, 2013 at 11:13 am

There is a widget in the footer keeping an active count, as of now it’s a little below 27,000. Thanks for your interest in this site, and apologies if any of my comments seemed too harsh. :)

      • farmerjj August 18, 2013 at 11:41 am

I also apologise for my posts especially the first one where it made out that the site was mostly negative which is wrong as I think it is a great site and I am looking forward to it expanding as tips did :)

    Thanks for the new blog!

How about screencaps and an analysis of the explosion from the “Kaboom” cutscene? Are there any buildings or characters that fly past us that haven’t yet shown up in the game, and do you think these might be indicators of possible upcoming content? (For instance, I’m pretty sure I see Terri and Sherri flying past!)

Thanks for making this blog! I really appreciate the finer details, like how you pointed out that the placement of parking meters had changed. This can be such a creative game and it’s fun to see how others utilize it. Keep up the good work!

Would love to see tips on decoration…particularly all the cool 3D stuff that people manage to accomplish with fences, hedges, etc. I’m sure there are tricks that a lot of us casual players haven’t mastered and are afraid to attempt!!

PS You are my favorite of the new blogs!! Love the confidence!! I think a suggestion box is a great conduit for new ideas!!

  10. Judy Dean August 17, 2013 at 11:46 am

I really like your site. It’s literate and thoughtful, and I really like that it isn’t full of speculation about stuff that might happen, and stats about site traffic, etc. That stuff drove me away from “that site” before it tanked, and is the reason I don’t follow its successor site. Thanks for the new walkthroughs- it’s just the info I need right now. :)

  11. Abissal August 17, 2013 at 11:29 am

It would be great to have some charts showing things like “will you earn more money by sending your characters to krustyland and then changing your tickets into money?” and “how many points does this and that contribute to your confor/krusty-o-meter and how much do you need at each level for 5 stars”. Things like that.

I’m a lazy person, so I would love to see some calculations done for me! :)

  12. Stephanyah August 17, 2013 at 10:13 am

Love the blog, it’s my new favorite after tstotips got taken out by the man. I’d like to see more speculation about updates (even rumors) as well as what’s in the files. I went mainly for those posts I think, because I don’t want to comb through those raw files myself :) . Thanks!

  13. Ginny August 17, 2013 at 9:26 am

I would like to see a gallery. It is always fun to see what other people are doing.
